Disney at Night
A Disney experience will never relate to anything else, but there are some things that we all could do without: the summer heat and humidity, the packs of crowds, the wait for rides and the expensive meal prices. No need to fret! There's a simple solution to these problems.
Disney in the daytime is a wondrous place to be and if you've never been, then don't let crowds stop you from seeing it in daylight. However, for those that have been a few times before or are spending multiple days in the park, take advantage of the beauty that is Disney at night!
The whole park is aglow as soon as the sun sets. It's the perfect opportunity to take pictures. Not only that, but many of the outdoor rides become a whole new experience during evening hours (and have shorter lines). Rides such as the Magic Carpets of Aladdin and its counterparts, give an aerial view of the park. If you're into thrill rides, then don't hesitate! The Seven Dwarves Mine Train is just one that feels completely different. There's an added rush when you aren't able to see the next corner you're turning down or a blinding flash of light obscures your view.
As the park starts closing for extra magic hours (another thing to take advantage of if you stay at a Disney resort), you can stop along Main Street to take a treat out with you. The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on the corner has a variety of options, including vegan ice cream. All scoops in a cone come with little chocolate Mickey ears for a perfect picture! If you really want a special treat, they have ice cream floats, apple blossom sundaes and Mickey's kitchen sink sundae. Not into ice cream?? There's a candy store too that serves caramel apples, chocolate-covered pretzels, cotton candy, and much more.
The show stopper ... the main reason people stay so late in the parks ... is the "Kiss Goodnight" fireworks and light show. There is nothing like it anywhere else. Animated scenes from all different Disney movies play across the castle with sound effects and beautiful firework displays. The show is just as magical the first time as it is every time after. Even during rainy seasons, the show will be delayed until the weather is permitting. There is something so jaw-droppingly gorgeous about the entire thing. Nothing can compare ✨
