Makeup for a Lit From Within Glow
There's no explanation for my sudden love of fresh, glowy skin. It makes you look so healthy and gives your skin a beautiful, flawless finish. I figured I would share all of my glow-to products (see what I did there?😉) to give your skin a hydrated look.
Moisturizer is a key ingredient in this formula for fresh makeup. Drunk Elephant's Lala Retro Whipped Cream is amazing! It has a light, pillow-y feel to it and it adds so much hydration back into the skin. This moisturizer is heavy enough for dry winter months, but also light enough to absorb quickly as a makeup base all year round. I always apply moisturizer before any other step, so it has time to absorb into the skin. Once I've applied it, I will do my everyday eye look to insure that any fall-out is covered when I do my base makeup.
For me, primer is just as important as using a moisturizer. If you are especially oily, primer can be your best friend when you still want a glow. The two I use right now are Milani's Make It Last and Laura Geller's Spackle Under Make-Up Primer. Both add hydration, improving the overall appearance of the skin. For those of you who are more oily, use what's comfortable for you. Adding that beautiful glow can come later.
To mix with my current foundation fave, I use the Algenist REVEAL Concentrated Luminizing Drops in Rosé. They're also so stunning blended on the cheeks with a makeup sponge. I think they are the perfect balance of blinding and natural. Your skin will look so so incredible once these are mixed in with your foundation.
So I talked about another foundation in my last beauty post, and I think this Essence Fresh & Fit Awake Make Up Foundation is even better! It gives you the healthiest glow without being cake-y or heavy. I would say that it's a medium coverage foundation, but is definitely still buildable. The color range is disappointing as are most drugstore products at the moment. If you have darkening drops or need another shade to mix with a higher end foundation, then try this one out. I would actually say it's comparable to Estée Lauder's Double Wear with a much lighter feel and thinner consistency.
How could I forget highlighter!!! There would be no point in putting this post up if I didn't mention my beloved Lorac Light Source Illuminating Highlighter in Daylight. This is the first mention of this product on my blog, but still a staple for me. Let me just list all the things I can't get over: 1. The packaging is ace, magnetic closure and all, 2. It has a soft powder texture, 3. This is the most blinding highlight I have ever used! If those things don't sell you on the product, then I don't know what will.
There it is, all my fave products for a luminous finish. I love doing posts like these so you guys get a true idea of the makeup I use and wear on a daily basis. How do you like your makeup, glowy or matte? Any beauty products to try for a dewy finish?
