Summer Ready Style

Summer's finally here, even though it's felt like it's been here for months. All the summer dresses and warm weather clothes are now making an appearance. Honestly, I hate this kind of weather. The humidity makes the air feel sticky, I'm never cool enough no matter what I wear, and flip flops are definitely not my thing. Despite all of these things, I still love a good summery outfit with a pair of denim shorts.

If you're like me, then here's an outfit to look like the summer sun without feeling showy.

Yellow is becoming an ever so popular color for the summer. It's something that turns a dull outfit automatically cheery and makes you look like you've been away getting a tan. I tend to stick to bright, but muted yellows. That way I look summer ready without standing out in a crowd. The shirt pictured is from PacSun. I love the lettuce edges because they add a feminine touch to the outfit. Also, I've been living in crop tops recently because I find they cut me off at the right spots and make me look slimmer.

Denim shorts... who doesn't have a trusty pair of denim shorts for spring and summer? This pair from Indigo Rein are my absolute favorite and pair well with any top, from flowy to cropped. Their prices are also great! So if you're on a budget, don't stress. You can pick these up at a local TJMaxx/Marshalls.

I must admit, finding a perfect black purse is one of the most difficult things I've had to do. After visiting many shops and checking millions of price tags (I'm on a budget😉), I found the perfect bag! Spacious, lightweight, perfectly sized, and affordable, I had to buy this bag when I found it in Forever 21. This purse looks so good with professional or casual outfits. If you want to see what's in my handbag check out my insta highlights @rainbow_roll4 under Hauls.

This may be an in-store exclusive since it doesn't appear to be online.

I will never, ever leave the house without my sunglasses. Sunny or not, they are an absolute essential. This pair is from Walmart (I know a real shocker!) for only $3. They honestly couldn't look any more high quality for the price. They have a matte tortoise shell rim with gold accents and reflective lenses. Even though I didn't need another pair of sunglasses, I knew I could not leave these behind.

Summer is better in flip flops, but I still wear close-toed shoes every now and then. I'm not gonna go into too much details about these high tops because they're not available anymore. Really any basic shoe will go with this outfit, so just wear what makes you feel comfortable.

Lately, I've found that I've been getting back into accessorizing. I kept this outfit pretty basic when it came to jewelry, but feel free to jazz up your own outfit as much as you feel comfortable with. The necklace I chose is a less traditional Kendra Scott. The chain is a classic, but not gaudy, gold with a white stone. This necklace looks beautiful with almost any outfit and is available in 4 different colors.

Well... there you have it. My basic summer fashion right now. I'd love to do more posts like this, so please let me know if you'd be interested down below. Don't forget to subscribe before you leave! 💛
