Finding Balance
2018...
What a great start! I already feel so empowered and excited by these first couple of months✨. I'm learning to juggle everything in my life and start healthy, new habits. I never thought that I could do so much to help my mind and my body. ๐
⚖I've learned that there is a balance for everything. You can't work too much or it'll overload your mind. You can't exercise too much or you'll tire your body. Understanding simple things like these is so important for a healthy life. Everything is about learning to balance the good and the bad.
๐I'll start off with work and "chore-like" tasks. There's only so much you can do at a time... only so much you can take before your mind feels like a piece of sludge. Take tasks one at a time, don't push yourself so hard that you reach your breaking point. I like to dedicate myself to one piece of work that I know I can accomplish the quickest. Then, once I've finished that, everything else seems like less of a struggle. The more I check off the better I feel. Sometimes I have to take a break and do something else. Maybe, go for a walk or go out and treat myself to that piece of home decor I've been eyeing up or that new shirt. Give yourself something to look forward too, even if that's just the satisfaction of doing a job well-done.
๐ชNext up is the routine fitness schedule. This can definitely be a big struggle. Working out makes you feel good and can make you look good. . ., but as hard as it is to start getting into it, it's so hard not over-working your muscles. I'm guilty of it✋. I know it's bad and I really need to find my balance. Just as much as your muscles need to be worked, they need to rest. I know it seems so crazy that you need to workout, but not too much. It's very much a Goldilocks' situation๐. Your routine has to be "Just right". How do you know if it's all going smoothly? Your muscles aren't screaming in pain every time you workout (which should be 4-5 times a week for 30 minutes each day) and you notice you can do more for longer during exercises.
Something that goes hand-in-hand with your fitness routine is eating habits. This is another tricky area that can be difficult to juggle. ๐๐๐ฅEating plenty of fruits and vegetables everyday, as well as protein is vital. You also don't want to completely cut out all the sugar-y, carb-packed foods๐ฐ๐ฉ๐. They may not be good for you, but eliminating them completely could make you crave them more. Just eat them in moderation. I find keeping a food and exercise journal helps me see everything I'm putting into my body and what I should cut back on. Also, don't forget to drink plenty of water during the day!
The last topic of balance I'm going to talk about is social interactions. It's so important to interact with others. Keep in touch with your friends and check in on them every once in awhile. This will help you build stronger relationships that will have a greater potential to last longer. Make it a priority to get together with caring friends because being around kind people will make you want to be kinder. The people you hang around have a big influence on you and how you act. Don't forget though, always make time for self-care. Be the best version of yourself and the rest of the world will light up around you! ๐๐
