The Best of Essence Makeup
Hi guys! Happy December, there's only 17 days until Christmas! I can't believe it will be here so soon. December has passed by so quickly and I feel like I haven't stopped to enjoy everything. I thought I would do a best of the brand Essence because you might need some gift ideas for makeup lovers in your life. Enjoy!
One of my new loves from the color correcting range is the dark circle correcting liquid in pastel yellow. I actually use this in place of a concealer because it's not super thick and it's really brightening. I find that it doesn't crease the way every other liquid makeup has under my eyes. This is a super affordable corrector and it's one of my faves.
Another face product that I would recommend is the soft-touch mousse makeup foundation. The color selection is not great, but I was able to find my shade (matte ivory). This foundation is very lightweight and smooth. I do have a little bit of cakeiness between my brows and around my nose, but if I take a damp sponge to those areas everything blends out nicely. It is a lighter coverage foundation that is great for natural days and people that don't need a lot of coverage. I also find that it's not tacky and it would be okay if you didn't set it with a powder. Overall, I'm quite impressed for the price.
The eyeshadow in "Shrimp me up" is unfortunately not available anymore, but I still wanted to mention it. I've been using this as part of a more festive eyelook during the holidays and I really like it. The downfall is that it takes a little while to build up and the pigmentation isn't great. However, I think Essence has probably upped there game with eyeshadows, so I would check out the new ones they have.
Essence's Make me brow in "brownie brows" is probably my favorite brow product ever. It is a really affordable dupe for the Benefit Gimme Brow (I mentioned both of these in the blogpost here). You can use this on its own for a natural look or with pencil/cream products to set the brows. I highly suggest purchasing this product if you're on a budget and need a trusty brow gel.
Lastly, there's the Long-lasting lipstick in "Très chic". I can't speak from personal experience because I haven't used this product yet, however, it is $2.99 with a 4.5 star review. This color looks like a gorgeous shade for the winter and I am excited to use it. I will let you know my final thoughts after I have used it.
Side-note: The Essence advent calendar that is out now is amazing!!! It's really affordable and has something nice each day for 24 days. I am opening each day on my Instagram story. Check it out! My username is rainbow_roll4
