Long-Lasting Makeup Tips for HOT Summer Days

When the weather gets hotter it seems like your makeup lasts fewer hours. If that's a problem you tend to have, then today your issues might be solved. I'm going to share what tips I use to help keep my makeup put all day.

#1 ALWAYS USE A PRIMER. Primers create a base that allows makeup to stick and stay all day. Not only do you need to use a face primer, but also an eye primer. The Urban Decay Primer Potion works really well, however it does ball up. For my face I use the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water because it's cooling and can be used as a primer or setting spray. I also use the Lancome Mascara Base to keep my mascara from running.

#2 POWDER. Even if you're going for a dewy, glowing look, powder is essential. It will help to keep your concealer and foundation from slipping around and keep the shine away. You can try baking (mentioned here) to increase the staying power of your makeup, but make sure to dust away excess powder to avoid a cake face. If you really want a glow, then add highlighter or a powder that has a luminous finish. I would recommend the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. Also, don't forget to set your eye primer with a powder.

#3 USE A LIP LINER. This is a must do anytime you wear lipstick, but it's especially important for a long-lasting look. Applying lip liner will keep your lipstick from bleeding and add pigmentation to the lipstick. You can also wear lip liner on its own with a gloss over top.

#4 TRY BLOTTING PAPERS. Throughout the day, you may get a little shiny. If you carry blotting papers, you can dab off the excess oils from your skin. This will help keep your makeup from transferring or smearing.

#5 USE YOUR FINGERS. Blending your foundation, moisturizer, or sunscreen in with your fingers will help it absorb and sink into your skin, helping it stay longer.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and your makeup stays beautiful all day long.
